Team Lead - Sulfur Melter Operations

Where will you work: Onsite - New Wales Facility, FL (3095 Highway 640 Mulberry, FL 33860)

Are you ready to lead a high‑impact team in a critical operational area? Mosaic is seeking a dedicated Team Lead to oversee the Sulfur Melter operations at our New Wales Concentrates facility. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our continuous production process, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations. You’ll supervise a skilled team of hourly employees, drive product quality, manage raw materials, and champion safety and compliance standards. This is more than just a lead role—you’ll serve as a key liaison between management, shift operations, supply chain, and maintenance, helping to streamline communication and drive performance. You’ll also play an active role in training and qualifying employees, supporting process improvements, and contributing to capital projects. What you’ll do

Supervise hourly employees and oversee daily operations to optimize logistics and scheduling.

Provide clear work direction, feedback, and manage performance issues.

Develop and coach employees, support career growth, and assist with qualifications/testing criteria.

Troubleshoot operational issues with maintenance and implement process improvements.

Analyze reports to ensure customer requirements are met; forecast and adjust for performance issues.

Prepare shift summaries, monthly, and quality reports.

Maintain safe operating conditions; coordinate safety permits and lockouts.

Train team on safety/environmental policies; conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Facilitate communication across shifts and departments to ensure smooth operations.

What you’ll need

Education: High School Diploma/GED required

Experience: 2+ years related experience; 1 year in fertilizer industry preferred

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Technical: CMMS (2–3 years), Microsoft Office (entry level); Kronos preferred

Language: English proficiency required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions, climbing, and hearing‑intensive tasks

Occasional exposure to hazards, heat, respirator use, lifting (21–50 lbs.), and rotating shifts

Must be able to safely use standard safety equipment rated for 300 lbs. or less
