Markel . Markel, a Fortune 500 company known for its specialty insurance products, is seeking a Program Manager to join the Business Delivery team within our US & Bermuda Operations. This team leads technology transformation, specifically overseeing the business delivery of the Guidewire PolicyCenter Program. This role focuses on the PolicyCenter implementation of our Personal Lines portfolio. As Business Delivery Lead for Portal & API, you will liaise between business stakeholders, our SI partner, architects and IT delivery teams to drive alignment between business portal and API integration needs and solution design. Job Location: Hybrid work arrangement based in any US Markel office, EST or CST working hours. Responsibilities
Drive functional discussions with business stakeholders across digital topics (e.g., portal design and alignment with core PolicyCenter capabilities, persona journeys, UI/UX design, portal compliance and regulatory considerations) to articulate, document and translate requirements for SI partners and IT delivery teams. Lead digital readiness activities and discussions with business stakeholders throughout implementation phases. Lead design discussions with internal/external partners to ensure a portal that leverages best practices, reuses existing components, aligns with Markel branding, and performs at high capacity. Collaborate with Portal & API leads during sprint planning to ensure requirements and designs align with business objectives and timelines. Influence change management strategies by working with business stakeholders, IT leads, SI partner, and change management team on stakeholder assessment and persona journey impacts. Identify and manage dependencies and inter-workstream impacts to ensure a cohesive end-to-end solution. Identify and evaluate program risks and issues, escalate when needed, and work with the Business Delivery Owner on mitigation and contingency plans. Communicate program objectives, progress, risk assessments, and issue resolutions to stakeholders with transparency and alignment. Skills and Competencies
Minimum of 10 years of experience with digital experience platform implementations including Guidewire-specific portals Experience with portal and API development, supporting policy administration systems Strong experience in P&C insurance domain, including policy lifecycle, underwriting processes, distribution channels and personas Experience with the Guidewire InsuranceSuite and typical integrations between PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter Strong leadership in an Agile environment, including sprint planning, backlog management, and collaboration with multiple IT delivery teams Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence) Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred) Guidewire Certifications PgMP or PMP certification Agile certifications (preferred) US Work Authorization US Work Authorization required. Pay Information The base salary offered will be based on factors including education, experience, location, and other competencies. Salary range: $136,800 - $188,100 with a 45% bonus potential.
