Job Summary Serving as the second director of this growing unit, this leader will champion living‑learning programs (LLP) at the University of Utah. The Director will promote, manage and measure the impact of a living‑learning program that hosts over 20 living‑learning and theme communities. Reporting to the Senior Director of Housing, the position advances a collaborative commitment to the student experience. One milestone is to offer exceptional living‑learning environments where students can bridge academic and residential experiences.
Responsibilities
Develop partnerships and departmental structure to support living learning communities and other learning‑focused initiatives.
Execute operational growth plans with Living Learning Program partners with measurable programming and occupancy milestones.
Lead training initiatives for Living Learning Program partners to accurately utilize StarRez tools for student selection processes as part of the HDP application timeline.
Onboard at least one new LLC annually as part of the operational growth plan.
In partnership with Program Coordinators, develop accountability processes to ensure HDP financial resources enhance student experience within LLP communities.
Formulate quantitative and qualitative assessment of initiatives and processes to align with program growth and occupancy goals.
Execute annual Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with LLP partners.
Support individual development of students and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Eight years of progressively more responsible management experience.
Demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required.
Preferences
Experience in higher education residential housing or living learning programs.
Knowledge of StarRez or similar housing occupancy software.
