Operations Supervisor – 1st Shift – GXO Logistics
Join GXO Logistics as an Operations Supervisor for the 1st Shift (Sunday‑Thursday, 5:30 am‑3:30 pm). This role coordinates transportation activities, supervises day‑to‑day transportation operations, and strives to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Act as a liaison for Transportation, Operations, carriers, vendors, and customers.
Lead and supervise transportation staff, including training and evaluating employee performance.
Recommend or initiate hiring, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions.
Perform routing, planning, updating, and/or tracking duties of orders and shipments.
Analyze and resolve carrier performance and compliance issues.
Track and trace shipments to ensure on‑time, accurate, and satisfactory deliveries; provide updates as needed.
Investigate and resolve issues submitted by customers, carriers, and/or clients; provide follow‑up and reporting as required.
Maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit, and file various documentation.
What you need to succeed
Minimum 2 years of transportation or supply‑chain experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications with the ability to create complex formulas in Excel.
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
1 year of supervisory experience.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills with experience effectively supervising, coaching, and influencing employees.
Physical requirements
Lift objects up to 25 lb.
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
Reach (above head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel.
Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments.
