– The driver safely operates a collection truck and provides prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver ensures the vehicle is in compliance with safety standards before operation, adheres to all Company, state and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to ensure any defects are repaired promptly. Responsibilities
Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle per Company policy, verifying tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report safety issues on standard reports. Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher or supervisor. Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor and dispose of material at the designated facility. Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner. Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with departmental procedures. Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste. Clean around accidental waste spills, adhering to safety standards and policies. Maintain the vehicle's operational readiness and keep it clean; remove waste from the packer blade and truck body as appropriate on each disposal trip. Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports as required. Maintain adherence to required productivity standards to ensure customers are serviced promptly and efficiently. Follow all safety policies and procedures and actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Provide good customer service; act in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; demonstrate honesty and trustworthiness. Demonstrate good time management and follow-through to complete responsibilities safely and efficiently. Adhere to Company policies and rules; promote safety and avoid taking unnecessary risks. Maintain a sense of pride in work and strive to achieve goals. Minimum Requirements
