Plant Manager – AAM
American Axle & Manufacturing Join the team that drives power for a safer, brighter future. AAM, a Tier‑1 automotive supplier, seeks a Plant Manager to oversee operations at our Twinsburg, OH facility. The role requires 10‑15 years of automotive manufacturing leadership, a deep knowledge of HPDC aluminum foundry processes, and a proven record of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of action plans to achieve the business plan.
Work with corporate staff to secure resources that meet business objectives.
Plan and direct manufacturing activities, promoting a safe working environment and establishing performance standards.
Determine staffing levels, shift requirements, operating schedules, and recommend machinery.
Create an accident‑free culture by supporting environmental, health, and safety systems.
Analyze production capacity and workload to determine machine usage and labor hours.
Manage facility staff across manufacturing areas.
Provide technical leadership for new product/process development, including machine retooling and prototype manufacturing.
Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability and clear specifications.
Review financial statements, utilize data to improve profitability, and control operational budgets.
Demonstrate 5S and account for 4‑S principles in daily duties.
Maintain attention to detail, a productive attitude, and willingness to take extra steps to ensure quality.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
5+ years of progressive leadership experience within an automotive environment.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, daily operations, material handling, quality, safety, and human resource issues.
Strong knowledge of human resources, safety, associate relations, training, and employment requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of management, associates, and customers.
Strong planning, organizational, and analytical abilities for complex problem solving.
Prior Lean Kaizen manufacturing experience.
Familiarity with HPDC Automotive High‑volume Aluminum foundry process.
