Overview
Principal Business Manager, Lending Products
at Remitly. You will lead the underwriting strategy for our existing and new lending products and report to the Head of Credit & Analytics as a critical part of the leadership team. You will set the vision and roadmap for our lending products, define the details of product strategy and requirements, and oversee the build and execution of products, leading a cross-functional team and partnering with other departments and external partners. This is a combined strategy & analytics and product management role, requiring a deep understanding of credit dynamics and analytics along with product management skills. This is a zero-to-one opportunity, creating Remitly's lending business from scratch. This role is based in Arlington, VA (Washington DC metro area).
Responsibilities
Be accountable for the product strategy and development of new lending products: establishing product-market fit with economic viability; maximizing demand, conversion, and integrated lifetime value of Remitly customers.
Define and drive organizational alignment on the vision, multi-year learning agenda, and roadmap for lending product development, testing, and growth.
Own exploration, development, and testing of different lending product structures, features, and pricing; collaborate with Engineering, Credit Analytics and Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, and external partners.
Shape loan structures (open-ended lines, closed-end loans), pricing structures (membership fees, fixed fee rates, APRs), and payment options.
Lead customer and competitive research, testing, and analysis to maximize demand and conversion while maintaining credit and fraud risk controls and strong returns.
Own the product roadmap and delivery, managing dependencies with internal and external partners.
Lead broader organizational updates and socialization of the product roadmap, delivery, and business performance.
Build and lead a team of product managers and analysts responsible for lending product strategy and development; from ideation to execution and monitoring.
You Have
10+ years of professional experience in strategy roles
5+ years of experience leading product development and growth for credit products
5+ years of experience recruiting, managing, and developing teams
Experience in managing development and growth for credit products
Highly customer-centric, with a tendency to work back from customer needs and hypotheses
Ability to balance quantitative and qualitative considerations
Bachelor's or master's degree
Compensation & Benefits The starting base salary range for this position is typically
$164,000-$205,000 . In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our company and equity is part of the total compensation plan.
