Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
Reports To: Project Manager
Summary The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel and property on construction sites.
This position requires an EM 385-1-1 40-hour class completion certificate.
The SSHO must ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for the project.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement the project\'s safety program
Conduct safety inspections and audits
Investigate accidents and near-misses
Train employees on safety procedures
Comply with all applicable safety regulations
Communicate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and other stakeholders on safety matters
Qualifications
Strong understanding of the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926.16
Strong leadership qualities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
Have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class or equivalent
