About The Position As a

Manufacturing Engineer

in the

Operations

team, you will be involved in designing, developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems for Dometic products as assigned. This role involves using independent judgment to manage and execute engineering duties, ensuring manufacturing processes, environment, machinery, and tooling are safe and cost‑effective. This includes performing some complex or non‑routine engineering work.

Your Main Responsibilities

Implements and develops improvements to manufacturing processes, equipment, production design, tool or machines and methods to ensure maximum manufacturing capability and efficiency.

Investigates options and develops required layouts for new and current process methods or production areas to maximize manufacturing.

Solicits, analyzes, and negotiates quotes on capital equipment as assigned to ensure cost‑effectiveness.

Analyzes production data to identify and resolve bottlenecks, quality or safety issues.

Participates in the quoting process for new or current business providing necessary manufacturing documentation.

Performs complex work measurement studies and line balancing for new products and improvements to current products to support plant manning levels.

Establishes material flow analysis to propose, procure and install material handling equipment and systems that support manufacturing.

Independently evaluates and initiates cost reduction projects to improve materials and processes using independent judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.

Develops, leads and/or supports cross functional teams to address manufacturing, quality and safety issues associated with processes and products. This will include internal resources as well as external collaboration, including suppliers, as needed to achieve results.

Develops cost estimates and pricing for new and existing programs to ensure profitability.

Coordinates transfer of major programs between Dometic divisions or between plant and competitors.

Independently evaluates feasibility or cost reduction studies making recommendations that support manufacturing and profitability.

May offer technical assistance to other departments and positions as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering

3 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering

Experienced in high volume manufacturing environments with a variety of processes

Excellent problem‑solving and project management skills including root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation

Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement and related concepts with experience in application and definable results

Proficiency in drafting platforms (such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks), quality/statistical tools (such as Minitab, PFMEA, PPAP), PLC platforms, automation and programming tools and general data analysis and presentation software (Excel, PowerBi, PowerPoint, etc.)

Proficiency in manufacturing KPI’s including first pass yield, cycle time reduction, OEE, safety incident rate, cost reduction and downtime reduction

Strong communication skills including presentation and training with various sized groups
