Hires and trains front-line staff in the assigned department. Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department. Assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. May handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Collaborates with production manager and supervisors to coordinate production activities in the department. Regularly reviews production schedules to ensure deliverables are met within deadlines. Partners with the Production Manager to track progress or changes to production schedules and communicates information to team members. Schedules personnel and arranges workflow for optimum efficiency and production. Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects. Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in processes, materials, equipment, or skills. Develops and implements procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Provides recommendations to increase productivity and efficiency of the department. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Lean Manufacturing Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills Time management and problem-solving skills Strong supervisory and leadership abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Thorough knowledge of production processes Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Planning skills Problem-solving skills Required Experience/Education
Associate degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
