About The Vein Center The Corewell Health Vein Center is the only IAC-accredited vein center in West Michigan. We are a leading vein center located at 4069 Lake Drive with an onsite café and convenient employee parking. Our department is equipped with the latest technology and staffed by 2 Vascular Surgeons and 3 APPs who are dedicated to providing top notch patient service. Our Outpatient Cardiology Department offers a wide range of services including Lymphedema Rehab Therapy, Cosmetic Injectables, Retail Products, In-Office Venous Procedures, Venous Ultrasound Imaging; and Office Visits for Deep Vein Thrombosis, Lymphedema, and Venous Disease. Scope of Work Perform basic diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by the physician and document findings. Assist physicians with invasive procedures as needed. Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Obtain a complete and comprehensive patient history. Operate ultrasound equipment competently to provide quality diagnostic studies that meet the requirements of established ultrasound protocols.

Perform various diagnostic ultrasound examinations as prescribed by the referring physician and/or radiologists so that they meet the requirements of established ultrasound protocols.

Document quality images, including pathology noted during real time scanning. As necessary, assist physicians during invasive procedures.

Maintain a clean work environment and stock rooms with supplies as needed. Contact service personnel and notify management of malfunctioning equipment.

Support objectives set by lead ultrasonographer, imaging specialist, supervisor and/or manager. Assist imaging specialist/manager in credentialing and competencies set forth by Spectrum Health and various regulatory agencies.

Auditory capability to hear tone and pitch fluctuations such as that associated with Doppler, vascular and cardiac studies.

Visual acuity associated with vascular doppler and flow studies. Have the corrected vision equivalent and ability necessary to perform, evaluate & determine appropriate, normal & abnormal, diagnosis for ultrasound.

Assignments are moderately complex; follows established protocols and has some flexibility in exercising judgement within established parameters. Works under minimal supervision/instruction; may serve as technical specialist/trainer and mentor to less experienced staff.

Qualifications

Required Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in related field

Preferred Bachelor's Degree

2 years of relevant experience in ultrasound Required

This is a PRN Position with the ability to pick up shifts or hours up to 40 hours based on PTO and Sick coverage

Schedule will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
