Patient Access Liaison-Actimmune (Rare Disease) Mid West role at BioSpace. Must live in Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan or Minnesota. What You Will Do
The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) activities and responsibilities include supporting patients prescribed ACTIMMUNE. The PAL is a field-based position that will provide logistical and educational assistance to patients and caregivers as well as office staff, including physicians, nurses, and social workers. The PAL will work closely with patients and families, as well as physicians and their staff, to prevent and address barriers to patient medication access and improve patient adherence. The PAL will work with numerous internal teams, including Case Management, Reimbursement, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Sales & Marketing to provide education and resources on navigating insurance processes and accessing treatment. Provide home based demonstration on proper use of medication including self-injection techniques. Support and educate patients and caregivers about patient services for ACTIMMUNE, including product support and information, dosing and administration, reimbursement services, and other education as needed. Provide reimbursement education and support to physicians offices with specific emphasis on Amgen By Your Side reimbursement support services. Secure written opt-in and consent waivers to the patient support program for patients in the region. Maintain routine and proactive contact with patients while reactively responding to specific requests. Educate patients about insurance options when necessary to ensure continuity of care for the patient. Help patients and families to resolve logistical challenges with insurance and pharmacies when necessary. Respond immediately to patient and patient family questions and concerns; providing resources to resolve patient/caregiver issues. Connect patients with and warm transfer to appropriate financial assistance programs, if eligible and appropriate. Connect patients with external support programs that may be available in the region, as needed. Partner with Safety and PV. Report AEs and product complaints through medical information. Adhere to professional standards compliance guidance, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Represent Amgen at external meetings. Coordinate with case managers and home office commercial team. What We Expect Of You

Doctorate degree AND 2 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement Or Master's degree AND 4 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement Or Bachelor's degree AND 6 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish & English preferred. Orphan or Rare disease experience preferred. Experience directly supporting patients preferred. Account management/institutional experience preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA requirements. Familiarity with and Adherence to internal and OIG Compliance guidelines a must. Ability to handle difficult patient cases and resolve hurdles. Ability to work in team environment and manage communication with case managers and clinical sales associates. Ability to respond immediately when necessary to prevent lapses in treatment. Strong analytical skills and ability to report on meaningful activity in the region. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Professional, proactive demeanor. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
