The Department of State Hospitals – Metropolitan is accepting applications for a full-time, permanent Clinical Psychologist position. Working Title: Clinical Psychologist (Health Facility) Job Description:
Under the supervision of a Senior Psychologist, the Clinical Psychologist participates in a multidisciplinary team, conducting assessments, diagnostics, and treatment in a State Hospital setting. Experience with adjudicated populations (e.g., PC1370 incompetent to stand trial, PC1026 not guilty by insanity, LPS conservatorship) and forensic assessments is highly desirable. Alternative work schedules, including 4/10s, may be available, and telework may be authorized after 4/1/2025. Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of the education and experience required by Section 1396 of the Board of Psychology's Regulations for the appropriate specialty (Clinical, Counseling, Educational, Experimental, or Social). Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in settings like DSH, CONREP, CDCR, county jails, or similar facilities. Special Requirements:
Applicants must submit a State Application (STD 678), CV, and cover letter. Unlicensed candidates must demonstrate completion of a pre-doctoral internship by the time of appointment. Eligibility can be through civil service status, employment list, transfer, reinstatement, or LEAP. If not eligible, candidates must take the exam. Work Conditions:
Follow current face covering guidance issued by CDPH while on-site. Minimum Requirements
