Responsibilities
Greets patients and guests into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff.
Obtains all appropriate forms, verifies demographic and insurance information, collects co-pays, and issues receipts.
Maintains the lobby area, follows policies, and supports front office functions.
Prepares correspondence, memos, and forms as requested by supervisor.
Prepares end‑of‑day balance, cash out, and deposit slippage to ensure accurate accounting and secure cash in the safe.
Arranges for patients to have financial counseling and covers cross‑covering as needed.
Telephone Operator
Answers all incoming calls promptly and professionally.
Takes and relays messages accurately and timely.
Responds to emergency, urgent calls, and directs callers to clinical staff as necessary.
Triages calls, connects/transfers, sets up conference calls, and reports telephone equipment malfunctions.
Responsible for rolling the phones on and off night service.
Basic scheduling understanding.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
0–3 years experience in a medical setting; entry level.
Physical Demands Requires sitting for long periods, stooping, bending/stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity for office equipment and correctable vision 20/20.
Work Environment Office environment with high levels of contact with patients and the public.
Pay Range $19 – $22 per hour.
