Overview About BJK Peoples Health Centers: a Certified Community Behavioral Health Organization that provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis City. A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of 2,800 patients, with more than ninety-five percent chronically mentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders. The center operates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center and a Comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center for adults and youth.

Responsibilities

Administer client medication including all injections and monitor client medication compliance and side effects, including the use of standardized evaluation.

Participate in the formal assessment, development and/or review of the client\'s individualized treatment plan which will focus on the client\'s unique strengths and needs and encompass all areas of the client\'s life.

Perform metabolic screenings on clients and document outcomes in tracking system; follow up with results.

Ensure that medications are stored and managed according to federal and state regulations, including tracking, counts, and disposal.

Coordinate scheduling for laboratory tests, physical exams, and diagnostic services within and outside the clinical site; review results and reports in a safe, timely manner.

Communicate vital treatment information to the team.

Maintain tracking systems to ensure that labs and ongoing assessments are completed within the appropriate timeframe.

Utilize and maintain curriculum and compliance with Relias training; complete the necessary preparation for all assigned education groups.

Order any necessary medication from the pharmacy, make appointments for lab work and schedule physician appointments.

Oversee the prescription assistant program.

Provide client education regarding medications and review physician orders for treatment modifications that require additional client education.

Coordinate medication needs with pharmacies, clients, and families including use of indigent drug programs.

Record initial client histories, ongoing progress, and vital signs.

Assist with the implementation of computer-based disease management programs.

Be an active participant of the treatment team; participate in staffing and help develop interventions when needed.

Adhere to weekly direct services expectations; ensure that all required weekly, monthly, or quarterly documentation or reports are completed.

Phone calls requiring nursing interventions and refills will be addressed within 24-48 hours.

Qualifications

Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with experience in a mental or behavioral organization.

CERTIFICATION OR LICENSES REQUIRED: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
