Field Biologist (Field Based)
ERM is hiring a Field Biologist to conduct pre-construction special status species surveys for large construction projects in Fresno and Tulare, California. The role is full-time, limited-term, one year with possibility of renewal. Responsibilities
Conduct pre-construction surveys across project area for special status species. Work independently in remote locations. Collect electronic data, handheld sub-meter GPS data. Compile daily survey reports. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with ERM’s safety program. Requirements
At least 2+ years of biology and experience with special status species. Expertise in species such as Fisher. Experience with wildlife exclusion fencing, no work buffers, or exclusion zones. Familiarity with nesting bird survey protocols and general bird identification. Experience with species SJKF, CTS, SWHA is a plus. Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather and challenging terrain. Strong documentation attention to detail. Strong organizational and communication skills. Desire to work extended periods in the field and maintain positive attitude. Willingness to travel with overnight stays possible. Flexible availability: work weekends, holidays, evenings as needed. Independent problem solving and decision making. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle. Fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred. Pay Transparency
Annual base pay range $74,825 – $96,901 ($35.97/hr – $46.58/hr). Bonus pay not eligible for this limited-term position. Benefits Eligibility
