RN Behavioral Health / Behavioral Health - Crisis Assessment Center - Part time/Days at Children’s Nebraska. Positions are anticipated to start in October 2025. Schedule: Saturday - Days - 12hrs. Responsibilities

Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Primary responsibility is to care for patients with behavioral health needs. Utilizes the nursing process in delivering comprehensive and developmentally appropriate care to high-risk behavioral patients and their families. Acts as a psychiatric resource for the team by providing clinical support, monitoring compliance with system policies, guidelines, documentation, and maintaining a safe environment for patients with behavioral health needs. Responds to behavioral emergencies throughout the building and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient and staff safety. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards related to the care of hospitalized patients with behavioral health needs. Admission/Initial Assessment: Collects and documents data related to the patient’s individualized care. Demonstrates age-specific competency in assessment of patients and interprets information in terms of patient needs, growth and development, and the range of treatment required. Admission/Initial Assessment (continued): Assesses patient/family education needs and uses an individualized approach in delivery. Assesses family expectations for involvement in assessment and continuous care/treatment. Identifies nursing diagnoses, collaborative problems, and protocols at admission. Shift Assessment/Reassessment: Performs reassessments based on unit standards, guidelines, protocols, and changes in patient condition. Communicates changes to appropriate persons (MD, Charge RN, family) as indicated. Maintains professional communication standards. Plan of Care: Develops individualized patient/family plans of care using guidelines, protocols, and in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Team. Includes current and anticipated actions focused on care, education, and discharge needs. Sets goals and outcomes based on assessment data and revises the plan as needed. Implementation & Evaluation: Implements and evaluates nursing actions per the plan of care and patient condition. Coordinates with the nursing and interdisciplinary team to ensure goals are achieved. Provides education to patients and families as appropriate and facilitates discharge planning. Documentation: Maintains accurate assessment/evaluation records, timely documentation, and appropriate order entries. Documents discharge instructions clearly stating post-discharge needs. Clinical Judgment & Patient Safety: Uses clinical judgment, prioritizes interventions, and ensures safe environments for patients with high-risk behaviors. Provides resources and education to staff and participates in debriefings and quality improvement activities as needed. Ensures PHI protection and adherence to infection prevention initiatives. Additional duties: Supports de-escalation efforts, maintains a team-oriented approach, and advocates for the patient and family. Education Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Nursing required or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Experience Qualifications

2 years of psychiatric nursing experience preferred. Experience with pediatric patients preferred. Previous experience with EPIC software preferred. Skills, Abilities & Licenses

Ability to handle multiple tasks under stress while maintaining prioritization and composure. RN - Nebraska state licensure or compact state licensure upon hire.
