Overview
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center - Boise and Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) are seeking a Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider to join the cardiothoracic surgery team in Boise, Idaho. The selected candidate will participate in a multidisciplinary inpatient care model with Cardiothoracic Surgeons. The surgical APPs serve as first assist in cardiac and thoracic operations and manage the CVICU and the step-down unit. Program and Capabilities
The Cardiothoracic Surgery program is a collaborative practice with a dedicated floor housing a 10-bed CVICU, three dedicated CVORs, and a 6-bed step-down unit, supporting a busy schedule of cardiac and thoracic procedures. Responsibilities
First assist in cardiac and thoracic operations Manage the CVICU and the step-down unit Provide multidisciplinary inpatient care in partnership with Cardiothoracic Surgeons Contribute to a team that performs open heart surgeries, thoracic surgeries, TAVRs, MitraClips, and related advanced procedures Engage in quality and outcomes improvement through participation in registry benchmarking Schedule
Schedule: Surgical Orientation may include five 8-hour shifts for approximately three months, then move into four 10-hour shifts per week (generally 6am-4pm). Qualifications
Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho; Board of Pharmacy and DEA Vein harvest experience required Strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group; ability to obtain Idaho medical licensure to support the health system's internal program Previous APP experience in cardiac disease management Benefits / Recruitment Package
