Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nurse Educator enhances professional practice and quality patient care by providing evidence-based educational programs that promote professional competency for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff.
In this role, you will:
Participate in developing, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating onboarding and orientation programs for healthcare personnel.
Provide orientation/onboarding to promote employee retention.
Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to improve programs based on evaluations.
Develop and evaluate competency and educational activities to address practice gaps.
Design educational content that encourages learner engagement and promotes evidence-based practice.
Facilitate research, EBP, and QI initiatives in patient care settings.
Identify opportunities for lifelong learning and skill enhancement.
Utilize the novice-to-expert continuum to develop staff skills.
Experience and education needed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
Master’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
2+ years in clinical education, academia, or leadership (Preferred)
2+ years in acute care hospital (Preferred)
Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact license (Required)
Nationally Recognized Specialty certification (Preferred)
Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification (Required)
Ability to travel up to 25%
