Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Full-Time Medical Director for Hospice in Morristown, New Jersey
Atlantic Health System, a nonprofit healthcare network in New Jersey, is seeking a dedicated full-time Hospice Medical Director for the Atlantic Hospice Care Program. The Medical Director provides leadership, administrative oversight, and attends as the physician of record as needed, in an in-person role.
Responsibilities
Provide supervision to Assistant Medical Directors and ensure continuous physician coverage.
Collaborate with hospice management to develop policies and standards of care.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings; review patient eligibility and certify services.
Assist in the development of individualized care plans.
The Medical Director will also participate in strategic clinical leadership to maintain high-quality end-of-life care for patients and families.
Qualifications
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey.
Board Certification in Palliative Medicine is preferred.
Completion of a Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing physician.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in palliative care.
Certification by the Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine is preferred.

Hospice: Atlantic Visiting Nurse Hospice focuses on comfort and peace for patients with advanced illness, with more than 40 years of experience serving homes and facilities in Essex, Morris, Somerset, and Union counties. We collaborate with primary care physicians to develop individualized care plans and support families in end-of-life care.
