The Staff Radiation Therapist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Oncology. The primary purpose is to perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures involving X-rays and radioactive substances for simulation and treatment of malignancies and pain. Ensure accurate delivery of prescribed radiation therapy courses to patients. Perform quality assessment activities, education, training, and oversight to radiation therapy students as directed by the Radiation Therapy Manager. Assist in treatment planning and maintenance of prescribed standards set forth by the Radiation Oncologist; reinforce patient education and monitor for unusual reactions or events. Observe and enforce radiation safety measures for patients and staff; participate in patient education and clinical projects; support the education and research missions of the Medical Center. Assist in student teaching, oversight, and supervision as applicable. Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology. Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiation Therapy. 2+ years of Radiation Therapy experience. Ongoing Requirements
Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Maintains registration and licensure through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Ohio Department of Health. Career Roadmap
