Electrical Designer — US Citizenship Required — Full-Time Office/Project Job Summary: This position is for an Electrical Designer who will use electrical SmartPlant 3D to develop construction drawings using Smartsketch and AutoCAD for the DOD Sentinel project sites. In addition, this position is also responsible for the direct production of associated calculations and equipment/commodity specifications for Bechtel's work scope. Major Responsibilities

Work under the direction of senior engineers/designers to develop design products. Review client requirements and incorporate them into a design product. Assist in modeling equipment and commodities used in the electrical design. Extract applicable 3D model data onto 2D sheets, make proper annotations, and prepare the drawings for construction use. Coordinate the reviews of deliverables between the client as well as other engineering disciplines/functions. Review and resolve comments/feedback on the deliverables. Perform model reviews and resolve clashes with other commodities/disciplines. Ensure Electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards such as the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70). Assist in the development of electrical designs such as but not limited to grounding systems and equipment; lightning protection; equipment arrangement plans; raceway layouts (conduit, cable tray, underground duct bank, etc.); bill of materials/material take-offs; interior/exterior lighting designs; construction installation details; cable routing. Review and check design deliverables for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion. Participate in constructability reviews. Work with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements. Travel to project locations as required. This role will support design development of electrical systems and equipment for the GBSD program project by preparing models, drawings, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. The candidate will work with electrical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment with job responsibilities (include but not limited to): Modeling of electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, etc. in a 3D Revit model environment. Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines. Electrical physical design (and circuit and raceway). Responsible for raceway design, equipment location, and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update, conduit, and aboveground raceway design. Work under the direction of senior engineers/designers. Produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems. Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-proven concepts and procedures. Ensure electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. Provide technical support to construction in the completion of the electrical materials and equipment. Travel to project locations as required. Education and Experience Requirements

Level I Requires AA/AS degree or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 1-2 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience Level II Requires AA/AS degree or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3-4 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills

Must be able to collaborate well with other disciplines. Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks. Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings for Electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building electrical systems. Hands-on experience using 3D modeling software, including architectural interface, drawing generation, view templates, design options, and phasing. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively. Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally. Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. Preferred Knowledge and Skills

Possess active security clearance. Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
