Overview
The Manager of Heat Treat is responsible for overseeing all aspects of heat treat operations to ensure alignment with safety, quality, and production standards. This leadership role requires a combination of strong technical knowledge and management skills to guide a team of operators and support staff. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of heat treat processes and a proven track record of driving operational excellence within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
Manage the daily operation of heat treat activities, including scheduling workloads, maintaining and optimizing equipment, and ensuring compliance with metallurgy specifications and safety protocols. Lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and supply chain to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products. Oversee preventative maintenance programs, support Nadcap heat treat audits, and ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations. Monitor key performance indicators, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize resource utilization. Train, coach, and evaluate team members to support employee development and succession planning; regular presence on the production floor. Other duties as needed to support business goals and operational success. Qualifications
Substantial experience in heat treat operations within a manufacturing setting, particularly with small parts production. Strong understanding of heat treat equipment such as furnaces and quench systems; deep knowledge of metallurgy and related processes. Background in aerospace, automotive, or heavy industrial manufacturing is beneficial. Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, and lean manufacturing principles. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; hands-on mechanical aptitude and administrative capability. Compensation
Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr. Compensation for this role would pay between $120k-$145k with a complete benefit package including health, life, dental and vision insurance and a bonus plus 401k match. Relocation also if you qualify. Employment type
