Position: Field Service Technician III (100% travel required in the Northeast US) Compensation: 56,600-71,000 plus bonus. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, skill set, and location. Job Purpose
Provide technical and application support for EnerSys Battery and Systems products and services. Contribute an on-site presence to lead the team and deliver quality service. Offer mentorship to other team members in Health and Safety, quality, and standards. Contribute to financial targets in revenue and margin. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Follows all company policies and procedures, including warranty policies, Federal & Provincial safety standards, and transportation of dangerous goods. Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean working environment. Is directly responsible for company assets such as service vehicles, inventory, tools, laptops, and test equipment. Maintains truck log, if necessary, according to provincial and/or federal requirements. Maintains good communication with Field Supervisor. Completes and submits reports as required. Coordinates shipping and receiving; conducts material audits in the field to identify shortages. Performs installation of DC Power plants, BDFBs, Inverters, UPS, and DC Battery systems. Performs commissioning of DC power plants, inverters, battery conductance readings, and tests system and equipment alarms. Performs rectifier and inverter module swaps and updates system inventories. Performs Preventative Maintenance routines, including reports and data analysis to identify client improvements or risks. Installs data cabinets, cable tray infrastructure, load-bearing axillary systems, fiber optic raceways, grounding, and alarm connections. Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent Experience:
2+ years of related experience Able to travel to support in-field operations daily and weekly (100% travel). Required to complete RP101, RP201, or Systems equivalent. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Teams. Able to lift 135 lbs unassisted. Strong mechanical aptitude. Able to work safely with hand and power tools. Able to comprehend and compose documents in English and/or French. Able to perform math calculations and measurements. Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to identify and solve complex problems. Strong understanding of company procedures and policies; knowledge of IEEE & Telcordia standards. Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
Advanced electrical understanding to identify and mitigate risks related to electrical circuits; ability to use test equipment and interpret data; ability to read electrical and construction schematics; post-secondary certificate or diploma or Red Seal trade certifications; ability to grow revenue through strong client relationships. Must be able and willing to do overnight travel. Must be able to operate a forklift. Must be able to drive a company vehicle and meet driving requirements; some vehicles may require a specific driver's license. Must be able to differentiate colors. Physical ability to regularly bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch; lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilograms daily; heavier items with assistance. Must be able to stand for long periods and wear required Personal Protective Equipment. Must be able and willing to work overtime and varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Risk of electrical shock; exposure to materials such as lead/fiberglass; periodic medical testing may be required. Work in a plant/warehouse environment with varying conditions.
