Salary Range: $28.50 - $47.50 per hour

Primary Role Independently operates, maintains, repairs and inspects wastewater treatment plant and collection system. Includes sample collection, laboratory testing, data recording, regulatory reporting, chemical feed adjustment and assistance with water collection system and main repairs.
Key Accountabilities
Operate wastewater system and collect/ analyze samples for compliance.
Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties; calibrate monitoring equipment.
Follow Environmental, Health and Safety Policies; report unsafe conditions.
Record system operation readings on scheduled basis.
Maintain daily logs and plant operating data.
Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and community customers.
Assist in repairs of treatment plant equipment and water and sewer main repairs.
Perform other related functions as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of mechanical maintenance of related equipment.
Knowledge of activated sludge treatment and industrial chemicals.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Reading gauges and meters.
Maintain accurate paperwork and logs.
Perform accurate mathematical calculations.
Standardized water process control, monitoring and compliance sampling.
Mechanical skills for minor repairs.
Light duty electrical power systems experience.
Computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, SCADA.
Experience/Education
High school diploma or GED required.
State Class B Wastewater License preferred; experience may compensate.
Additional trade specific courses preferred.
Three years operating activated sludge plants preferred.
Three years working in sewage collection systems preferred.
Travel Requirements
Less than 5 % travel.
Work Environment
Indoor/outdoor work in seasonal heat, cold or adverse weather.
Must be physically able to lift 75 pounds unassisted.
Weekend, holiday and overtime work may be required.
Requires passing a Department of Defense background check for access to the military installation.
Certifications & Licenses
Class B Wastewater License preferred.
Valid, active state driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
Performance Measures

No reportable accidents within work area.
No environmental regulation violations.
No legitimate complaints from co‑workers.
