This engineer will have the opportunity for structural design on both local and national projects in markets such as healthcare, commercial, office, sports, entertainment, education, and residential.

Our skilled structural engineering teams provide custom solutions for new constructions and expansions, with a strong record in notable projects like Coors Field. Our civil engineering teams focus on site and infrastructure design, currently leading projects such as the 16th Street Mall redesign in Denver. Lastly, our investigative engineers are pivotal in supporting ongoing projects by planning and implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements for buildings and sites. With nine office locations and a staff of 370, Martin/Martin engineers regularly perform work across the United States and internationally.

The Professional Engineer should possess good judgment in evaluation, selection, and implementation of standard structural design techniques, procedures, and criteria. This Professional Engineer will design projects with minimal daily supervision and have the communication skills required to manage the flow of information on projects and work efficiently as a consultant. The Professional Engineer provides quality control by checking calculations and documents and meets project deadlines and design budgets under the direction of the Project Manager and Principal in Charge/Engineer of Record.

Examples Of Responsibilities

Strong working knowledge of building and material codes and how to effectively apply them. Knowledge and use of computer design and graphics software, including use of AutoDesk Revit to produce Construction Documents. Completes thorough project documentation including narratives, reports, calculations, and drawings. Provides quality-control check of work produced. Coordinates structural design with work of other disciplines. Provides project construction administration support including shop drawing review, responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), and field observations. Familiarizes self with products and construction procedures. Attends technical training seminars when opportunity is provided. Works collaboratively with staff at Martin/Martin, Inc. Works overtime, when necessary. Communicates effectively with clients, other team consultants, and contractors. Serves as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff regarding design techniques, software, and code questions. Assists Project Manager in the development and implementation of project specific QA/QC plans. When requested, assists the Project Manager with monitoring design budgets and project schedules.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Professional Engineer BS plus a minimum of 4 years of progressive engineering experience (MSCE/MSAE counts as 1 year)

Instills confidence in supervisors and clients through effective communication and technical skills Ability to design, detail, coordinate, and model small to medium size projects within time and budget constraints Followed multiple engineering projects from start of design to completion of construction Demonstrates time management skills needed to plan and execute projects Demonstrates strong commitment to continued professional development Participating member of professional and/or technical societies Has a PE license in the state of his/her home office Passed the 16-hour structural engineering exam
