Mechanical Design Engineer II
Regal Rexnord invites applications for a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join our engineering team.
Summary The Mechanical Design Engineer II is responsible for developing new products—whether platform or Customer Lead Opportunity (CLO)—that meet performance, cost, and quality requirements. The role also involves generating clear technical documentation and procedures for use by design, manufacturing, and quality engineers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support existing products through cost reduction, failure analysis, application solution, and product derivatives.
Provide drawing and documentation approval for simple to medium‑complexity components and processes.
Recommend design changes with corresponding documentation for complex components and processes.
Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) dispositioning.
Use computer‑aided design analysis tools to optimize designs efficiently.
Travel 5–10%.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
3 years’ relevant engineering experience.
Ability to perform design calculations.
Experience with SolidWorks and PDM (desirable).
Understanding of design requirements, part function, and manufacturing principles.
Strong communication and facilitation of technical discussions with internal and external customers.
Capability to solve moderately complex problems.
Physical Demands The employee must use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The job requires standing, walking, and sitting regularly. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by all transportation forms is required (5–10% travel).
