Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.
The Role Coordinate data and implementation plans for engineering changes, supporting MGO scheduling and inventory management. As an Engineering Change Coordinator, you will be work closely with Design Release Engineers, Quality Engineers, Controls, Production Team & suppliers to execute engineering changes. You will be expected to consult with internal & external teams to clarify the details & impacts of proposed changes to resolve spec issues.
What You'll Do
Analyze incoming engineering change information
Organize weekly log of engineering changes to communicate to material team and production
Lead and conduct meetings for coordinate changes
Interface with Material team (PTR Coordinators, MFUs, Floor Team, GEPICS) to verify readiness and fine tune breakpoint dates
Assist with supplier communication to target breakpoint changes
Maintain accurate information in MGO for part number breakpoints to ensure accurate inventory balances and supplier schedules
Adjust MGO breakpoints as necessary
Finalize breakpoints to use up inventory, reduce obsolescence & properly close out changes including verifying scrap, supplier returns or rework on dispose changes
Manage local specs in MGO as required
Support model year change activity including obsolescence reduction efforts
Support coordinated changes
Support plant quality metrics and BIQ 4 with controlled engineering changes
Support PTR planning as needed
Assist GEPICS Coordinator with resolving the no-hit/multi hit reports as well as GEPICS/VESCOM comparison
Required Qualifications
3+ years of Supply Chain experience
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related experience/degree
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
High level analytical ability where problems are complex
High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization
High level of computer skills (Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of GEPICS
Proficient in MGO-A
Knowledge of GM Specifications & Engineering Change Management
GMS Experience/Knowledge
Knowledge of order management systems (POMS)
