Aircraft Mechanic III (Sheet Metal) WG-3806 equivalent Responsibilities: Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance. Supervises subordinate mechanics and provides technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Capable of performing, supervising, and inspecting the duties of Mechanics I, II, and III. Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty; maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components; applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and restoring equipment condition and operation. Applies professional technical expertise to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals. Requires knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and ability to determine functionality of noncomplex electrical systems. Familiar with aircraft tools and equipment (test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and shears, etc.). Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers; prioritize workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules. Make entries in aircraft logs and records; guide and mentor lower-level technicians during modifications and maintenance efforts. Plan layouts, fabrications, modifications, repairs, assemblies, and installations of complex aircraft sheet metal parts and assemblies. Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, specifications, WCDs, work orders, and PAC in manufacturing aircraft sheet metal structures. Inspect for damage to sheet metal structures and determine repairs needed to restore strength. Determine dimensions, angles, contours, and attaching hardware; perform general repairs by manufacturing and installing new parts and reinforcing or replacing defective parts. Apply riveting, soldering, and related techniques to ensure durability and appearance. Spot treat corrosion and perform paint touch ups on related surfaces as required. Perform wear checks on Roll and Lift Spoiler hinge lobe with micrometer. Remove/reinstall and/or re-stake elevator and rudder bearings with provided equipment and tools. Remove and replace Sump Tank Helicoils with provided equipment and tools. WAGE:
$41.98 per hour Additional Rate:
Health and welfare of $6.50 for each hour worked to be used for medical expenses/health benefits; any unused funds will roll over into a 401k at year end. Job Requirements: Minimum of 2 years on platform preferred, and/or 3 years in AMIII career field. Authorized to clear Red X primary system. Authorized to accomplish in-progress inspections (IPI) primary system. Authorized to remove warning/danger tags.
