Job Description
Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance. Supervises subordinate mechanics and provides technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Capable of performing, supervising and inspecting the duties of Mechanics I, II and III. Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components. Applies technical knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to determine equipment malfunctions. Applies technical expertise to restore equipment condition and operation. Provides professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers\' manuals. Records entries in aircraft logs and records, and provides guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. Job Requirements
Minimum of 5 years specialized C-130 aircraft maintenance experience and/or current A&P license/certification with 3 years of E-2 or P-3 fixed wing propeller experience. Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components. Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair. Ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. Detailed knowledge of aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. Ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers. Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules. Type Of Vehicles/Support Equipment
