Advanced Video Engineer III

Overview
This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future. Are you ready to take charge of engineering activities that maintain and enhance advanced video and signal processing systems? As an Advanced Video Engineer III at Spectrum, you will design, implement, monitor, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and electrical systems. Collaborate closely with headend operations staff to refine system design and configuration, ensuring optimal performance in your assigned areas. Responsibilities
Advanced configuration and support of advanced video equipment (e.g. VOD, controllers, multiplexing, digital transport, edge QAM) Manage, maintain, and update SDV/DAA back office and deployments of new services. Support Vertasent SDV/DAA systems in a daily and rotating on-call support role. Perform SDV/DAA updates to support the conversion from legacy to DAA architecture. Work with Engineering to design and test system designs, including audio, video and other multimedia equipment Analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic components Identify, resolve and escalate as required operational and design issues through data analysis and recommend solutions to make systems more efficient Work with the field on the implementation of network related projects and other standardization efforts Work with vendors and Engineering to resolve issues and design flaws Perform detailed problem diagnosis, track and update problems in trouble ticketing system; develop problem resolution procedures required to meet serviceability requirements Function as lead level and provide technical guidance and assistance to other support teams across enterprise, providing mentoring to associated staff as needed Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable Know, understand and follow company policies Working Conditions

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E) Experience
5+ years video networking technologies experience Expert knowledge of IP and MPEG Protocol Analyzers Project management experience Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification Skills
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate clearly in a professional manner Ability to isolate and troubleshoot failed equipment, facility issues and other network components Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure Knowledge and understanding of video, data and voice communications networks, IP networking Advanced IP networking knowledge, TCP/IP protocols, Routing, Switching, Routing protocols, ISIS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF MPLS, TCP/IP protocols, SNMP, ARP etc. Knowledge of network access and element management systems and their protocols (SMNP, NMS, Syslog, SSH, Telnet, etc.) Advanced knowledge of UNIX, UNIX tools, Motorola (DAC), and CISCO (DNCS) video delivery systems Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Microsoft Visio or equivalent design software Preferred Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or equivalent technical field or work experience Skills
Ability to write scripts Knowledge of Spectrum products, services, and NOC procedures Knowledge of network and element management systems The base pay for this position generally is between $77,900.00 and $140,470.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional incentive-based compensation such as bonuses. Be part of a team that believes in building careers.
