Estimator

to their growing preconstruction team in Nashville.

Position Overview The

Estimator

plays a key role in the preconstruction phase—responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates and budgets for a wide range of commercial projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret plans and specifications while working closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.

Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for all divisions of work.

Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

Develop and maintain project cost databases, historical data, and pricing trends.

Collaborate with the project management team during preconstruction to assess constructability and cost‑saving opportunities.

Participate in value engineering and design‑assist efforts.

Prepare detailed scope sheets and bid proposals for presentation to clients.

Attend pre‑bid meetings and coordinate with clients and design professionals as needed.

Assist with budget updates and cost tracking during project execution when necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).

3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating with a General Contractor.

Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing.

Proficient in estimating and project management software (Sage and Procore) and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.

Familiarity with local subcontractor market in the Nashville area a plus.
