Responsibilities

Oversees LPNs and other unlicensed assistive personnel in the performance of nursing care of assigned patients; maintains a positive work relationship with the healthcare team and provides patient care to individuals of all assigned age groups; performs human resource activities and operates within budget targets. Coordinates clinical operations and supervises, trains and develops department staff to ensure quality assurance. Performs performance evaluations for LPNs and other clinical/clerical staff as directed by the department manager. Coordinates provider call schedule and provider staff clinic schedules and assignments. Safely administers medication and prescribed therapies utilizing National Patient Safety Guidelines. Provides safe, effective nursing care to ensure an effective patient visit. Answers patients’ questions, resolves issues and escalates concerns as needed. Completes appropriate medical/legal documentation. Adapts to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, adapting explanations of services or procedures, requesting permissions and adjusting communication style as needed. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications

Education

Required – Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing. Work Experience

Required – 3 years of healthcare experience; 1 year of relevant leadership experience. Certifications

Required – Current LPN License in the state of practice. Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Preferred – IV Certification. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call availability) and travel throughout and between facilities. Physical and Environmental Demands

Notes: Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue; occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or waste may exist depending on duties.
