Physician Assistant - Neonatology/NICU (Full Time/Per Diem) – Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, New Jersey The NICU Physician Assistant will attend high-risk deliveries and work with neonatologists to assess, diagnose, prescribe, perform procedures, and help develop care plans for neonates. The successful candidate must be proficient in newborn resuscitation, intubation and stabilization, umbilical lines, PIV, arterial blood draw, ventilation management, needle aspiration and chest tubes, spinal tap, interpretation of x-rays, and appropriate and efficient use of consultants. Responsibilities
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team providing comprehensive care Evaluate and treat newborns in the NICU in collaboration with neonatal attendings Attend high risk deliveries and provide appropriate stabilization Perform therapeutic interventions as appropriate for the care of neonatal patients Provide family centered care and communicate effectively with health care teams and families Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center\'s Organizational Competencies Participate in NICU transport team Requirements
New Jersey PA license Successful completion of an approved physician assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education Demonstrates effective communication and leadership skills including teaching principles, organizational and presentation skills Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint AHA Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification Neonatal Fellowship program (preferred) Compensation
Starting Base Salary: Full time, starting at $117,395.20 annually; Per Diem, starting at $24,652.16 annually HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may be different than the posted base salary based on a number of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to: Specialization: Area of specialization and sub-specialization Labor Market Data: Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness Experience: Years of relevant experience in the areas of specialization and sub-specialization Leadership: Relevant experience as a department chair or chief, practice group leader, or other leadership roles Education and Certifications: Degrees attained, residencies, fellowships, board certifications, research, and publications Productivity: Levels of productivity, quality and patient satisfaction Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant skills and competencies Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the specialty and/or sub-specialty Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered In addition to our compensation for full-time and part-time positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
