Overview
Certified Nursing Assistant - Cherry Hill Campus 12 Hour Shifts Swedish $0 premium plan Full-time caregivers (0.75-1.0 FTE) who earn less than $60,000 per year will be offered the Swedish PPO medical plan with a $0 premium cost, including dependent coverage. If you enroll in the Swedish PPO medical plan and meet the eligibility requirements, you will see the $0 premium plan option in the benefits enrollment system. The NAC assists in the delivery of patient care and department-related activities under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities
Works under supervision of the RN to provide care and service to patients and their families. Receives direction from the RN for delegation of tasks. Adheres to emergency policies and procedures associated with patient care.
Transports patients as directed.
Appropriately communicates and documents all daily activities and care provided to patient. Communicates and documents unusual and complex issues and changes in patient condition in a timely manner. Communicates and documents such actions accurately and legibly.
Provides patient care as directed by team RN and within scope of practice. Duties may include making and changing beds, assisting with ADL’s, vital signs, urinary catheter care and removal, Intake & Output’s, ambulation assistance, assisting patients to the bathroom, assisting patients with using a bedpan, assisting with pericare, assisting the patient with feeding, and performing chemstrip functions.
Performs courtesy patient rounds with frequency as delegated by the RN.
Answers the unit telephone and patient call system in a timely fashion.
Responds appropriately and timely to unit and patient alarms.
Collaborates with nurse and other team members to organize and prioritize functions necessary for patient admission and care delivery.
Restocks supplies after use, maintains core stocking levels, and works with manager or designee to adjust par levels. Notifies nurse manager and/or designee and makes recommendations for adjustments.
Works collaboratively to manage the use of supplies as directed, and charges for supplies used.
Sets up and maintains neat patient rooms. Cleans equipment as directed.
Maintains quality control logs (urine dip sticks, glucose controls, temperature log-book, medication refrigerator temperatures).
Assists with patient admission, discharge, transfer, and associated documentation. Manages patient belongings.
Participates in system-wide emergency situations as directed.
Participates in unit, department, and system-wide educational activities including Quality Improvement programs as appropriate.
Performs assigned technical skills (e.g., bladder scans for PVRs, specimen collection and testing, traction and trapeze equipment setup, glucose monitoring, dressing changes, oxygen saturation, pulse checks, monitor strip printing).
Able to perform the role of Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) as directed, ensuring patient safety and communicating changes to the RN/charge RN/designee in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned to ensure effectiveness of care delivery and unit function.
Qualifications
Required: Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License
Required: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
6 months of acute care experience
1 year of skilled nursing experience
Acute or skilled experience waived if applicant has demonstrated healthcare customer service experience and completion of an acute care NAC course
Acute or skilled experience waived for students enrolled in an approved RN program with clinical patient care experience

The base pay range for this role is listed as $26.78 - $37.06 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role (e.g., shift differentials, on-call, overtime, premiums, bonuses).
