Overview
Life Care Center of Federal Way is a long-term care and post-acute care facility. We are looking for a PRN Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. We offer PRN compensation of $50-$55/hr DOE, in-house rehab programs with collaborative teams, and the support of a network of nearly 200 skilled nursing facilities. Continuing education and growth opportunities are available. Responsibilities
Provide direct rehab care in speech therapy to patients upon physician referral in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals. Chart appropriately and timely; utilize therapy software accurately. Demonstrate excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team; liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan patient needs. Participate in community health matters/projects as appropriate; participate in the evacuation of patients when needed. Display dependable, regular attendance; follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures; maintain confidentiality of information. Contribute to a safe work environment by following body mechanics, safety, and sanitation practices. Read, write, speak, and understand English; support and follow treatment plans under supervision as applicable for CFY/CCC roles. Essential Functions
Establish, assess, and modify goals; oversee and evaluate care for SLP CFYs if applicable. Follow speech therapy treatment plans under direction of supervising SLP CCC and in accordance with Federal and State guidelines (for CFY role). Utilize therapy software; document promptly; work with patients on therapy goals. Assist in patient evacuation if required; demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all duties. Maintain productive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders. Comply with Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory compliance training. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP). ASHA certified (CCC) or eligible for 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) to earn ASHA certification; maintain credentialing upon attainment. Currently registered/licensed in the applicable state; active license in good standing throughout employment. One year of experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred. CPR certification on hire or obtained during orientation; CPR certification must remain current during employment. Employment Details
