The Manager Clinical Pharmacy facilitates the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug therapies. This position serves as a professional practice leader, educator, and mentor and has an advanced practice role functioning as a clinical specialist both within the pharmacy and within interdisciplinary teams.
The position will report to the Director of Pharmacy and play a key role in managing operations, logistics, finance, safety, and risk management for the pharmacy department.
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and evaluates quality improvement and clinical pathways/programs related to medication use to ensure optimal patient care
Assists in performance evaluation and competency assessment of pharmacists, residents, and students
Coordinates and manages clinical functions of all pharmacy personnel
Evaluates clinical programs/services provided and implements improvements using formal systematic methods of problem solving and streamlining to maximize value
Assists in preparation and presentation of data for various committees such as Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection Control, and Medication Safety
Contributes to formulary management and works with health care providers to ensure formulary compliance
Participates in Strategic and Operational Planning activities and the development of the Pharmacy Department’s annual budget
Educates, mentors, and evaluates pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and/or pharmacy students to develop and improve skills necessary for providing pharmaceutical care
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required
Minimum of 3 years of recent pharmacy (or similar) work experience
Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works
Demonstrated change management, standardization and leadership development skills required
Demonstrated ability to create enthusiasm for new programs and different approaches to existing programs required
Demonstrated quality improvement competencies required
Demonstrated understanding of utilization and productivity in a variety of clinical settings required
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year in a leadership position or pharmacy residency completed or supplemental Masters Degree (MBA, MS, MHA, etc)

The hospital is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta.
The pay range for this position is $76.53 - $113.84 /hour.
