Overview
Clinical Research Nurse The Clinical Research Nurse provides specialized nursing care and clinical coordination for participants enrolled in clinical trials. This role is responsible for screening, enrolling, and supporting patients throughout study participation while ensuring patient safety, protocol compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The nurse serves as a key liaison between patients, investigators, and research teams, supporting both high-quality patient care and the successful execution of clinical research studies. Responsibilities
Patient Care & Study Coordination Screen and enroll patients in accordance with clinical trial eligibility requirements. Provide direct nursing care, including phlebotomy, IV placement, EKGs, and other procedures within scope of practice. Monitor subjects for changes in condition, adverse events, protocol adherence, and response to interventions. Support patient retention by fostering a positive and compliant trial experience. Documentation & Compliance Ensure accurate, timely documentation in source records, case report forms, and sponsor electronic data capture systems. Collaborate with investigators and study staff to maintain compliant records and protocol tools. Participate in the development and maintenance of approved source documents and study materials. Regulatory & Protocol Management Assist with regulatory documentation and ensure compliance with institutional, sponsor, and IRB requirements. Support site initiation visits, monitoring, and audits. Contribute to feasibility analyses and program development with investigators. Recruitment & Informed Consent Pre-screen, recruit, and consent participants in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. Maintain and submit screening logs to sponsors as required. Team Collaboration & Training Educate and collaborate with ancillary staff, sub-investigators, and clinical teams regarding study requirements. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance trial performance and patient outcomes. Shift
Hours include 8:00AM - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, and other hours, including morning hours, prior to 8AM, late evening hours after 5PM, overnights and weekends, as required by study protocols. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing School or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be obtained is necessary. Possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri is necessary. Minimum of two years of recent nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or similar health care setting is required. Preferred Qualifications
Preferred certification in clinical research by Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) Anticipated Hiring Range
