Stains, mounts, and studies cells of the human body to detect evidence of cancer, hormonal abnormalities, and other pathological conditions, following established standards of practice. Prepare microscopic slides from specimens of blood, scrapings, or other bodily exudates, and fix and stain slides to preserve specimens and enhance visibility of cells under the microscope. Examine cell samples to detect abnormalities in color, shape, or size of cellular components and patterns. Evaluate cells for the presence of cancer, precancerous changes, or infections. Provide clinical data or microscopic findings to assist pathologists in the preparation of pathology reports. Promote and display a positive customer-oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians. Education and Experience
Associate degree required 1+ year of Cytotechnologist experience preferred Benefits
