Responsibilities
Assess appropriateness of therapy and communicate with physicians to modify orders as needed.
Provide educational materials to patients verbally and in writing.
Document critical values in patient records following policy.
Participate in patient care decisions by communicating with healthcare team members and responding in emergencies.
Perform airway care, including intubation, tracheostomy care, and airway obstruction clearance.
Care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in various hospital settings.
Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems for critically ill patients.
Draw blood samples, analyze, and interpret blood tests.
Assemble and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment.
Requirements
Graduate from AMA, JRCTE, or CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program (minimum associate’s degree).
Valid NYS Respiratory Therapist license.
Credentialed RRT/CRT by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Experience with respiratory modalities, mechanical ventilation, and arterial blood gases.
BLS certification (American Heart Association); online courses are not accepted.
One year of critical care experience preferred.
Salary Range USD $45.26 - USD $57.52 per hour. This range does not include additional pay or benefits.
