Acute Clinical Staff Pharmacist

at Banner Gateway Medical Center, your responsibilities include order verification, supervision of technician work, medication stocking/dispensing, compounding, and clinical care, especially oncology care. Acute care or hospital pharmacist experience and completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency are strongly preferred. This role involves a varied schedule, mostly evening shifts, with hours typically from 10:30AM - 9PM or 12:30PM - 11PM. Shifts are 10 hours, with a rotation through a Decentralized Clinical Shift of 8-hour days (e.g., 7AM - 3:30PM). The schedule includes working holidays and weekends approximately every other week. There may be some day shift opportunities, such as 8AM - 6:30PM or 6:30AM - 5PM. Position Summary This position involves delivering pharmaceutical care, documenting all activities, overseeing pharmacy technicians and interns, and providing age-appropriate care. It requires assessing patient data and providing medication-related recommendations, adhering to laws and regulations. Core Functions Process and evaluate medication orders considering patient specifics. Assess medication regimens and recommend improvements for safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness. Communicate with prescribers and provide medication information. Document all patient care activities in electronic records. Engage in professional development and assist with training new staff. Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including sterile and non-sterile compounds. Manage pharmacy operations, including technology, inventory, and supervision of staff. Minimum Qualifications Unrestricted pharmacist license in the practice state, pharmacy degree from an accredited college, and compliance with licensing requirements. Hospital experience, good organizational, communication, and computer skills are essential. Additional requirements include valid driver’s license and specific fingerprint clearance cards depending on the facility. Preferred Qualifications Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency, previous hospital experience, and additional related education or experience are preferred.
