Overview

Consultant, Senior Project Manager, Construction Our client, a global Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Senior Project Manager (SPM) who will lead planning, budgeting, and overall management of major capital projects from conceptualization through design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close out. The SPM will define project goals, budget, schedule, scope, quality, risk mitigation, and respond to field conditions and construction logistics. The SPM shall develop collaborative approaches and work closely with Space Planning, Operations, IT/AV, Security and User teams to enable clear communication and team-centric leadership, integrating internal teams with consultant design teams throughout the design and construction process. The SPM will provide regular reporting and data analytics to the head of Engineering, Design, and Construction. The SPM will lead one or more high-complexity projects in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, core and shell construction, and related compliance. Projects may include research laboratories, vivarium, pilot scale manufacturing, major scientific equipment, and infrastructure projects. The SPM will lead design teams and Construction Managers through pre-construction due diligence, design and scoping with a focus on quality management, project controls, and user engagement; and through bidding and construction administration with emphasis on safety, schedule adherence, field coordination, financial reporting, change orders, commissioning, substantial completion, and close out. Responsibilities

Develops well-conceived and timely project plans outlining the overall project process with detailed roadmaps and risk management. Manages approved funding, commitments, and spend; assists in developing financial forecasts and risk analyses. Builds tracking and reporting platforms that integrate with ED&C project financial and engineering controls systems. Supports and incorporates ED&C Quality Management standards and processes. Performs due diligence activities and tracks risk issues with responsive incorporation of findings. Performs project management duties for major new construction, renovation, infrastructure, and facilities projects using extensive domain knowledge and experience. Monitors design and construction activities to ensure compliance with corporate standards, contracts, schedule, and budget. Establishes and maintains complex project budgets, cash flow analyses, cost estimates, and reviews purchase orders, change orders, and invoices with significant impact on operations. Identifies and addresses risk areas and potential liabilities. Develops, monitors, and maintains project schedules; maintains relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors; manages conflicts. Communicates complex ideas and persuades stakeholders, including executives, when necessary. Evaluates and develops standards, tools, and knowledge requirements for Facilities Project Management. Provides guidance and instruction in Facilities Project Management to less experienced team members. Collaborates with End Users, Stakeholders, and Department Heads to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations. Mentors and guides staff and supports development of team members. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management; Master’s degree preferred 15 years of experience in project management/construction management Experience overseeing $100 million construction projects Knowledge and ability to supervise people, including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development Preferred Qualifications

Major Research Project, Green Field Design and Construction experience preferred Architectural or Engineering background with zoning, planning, design, construction administration, compliance, and infrastructure understanding preferred Terms & Start
