Military Flight Controls Division

Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division’s JetPipe® electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly‑by‑wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world’s most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

Position Summary Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by managing and improving the quality, cost, delivery, morale and safety of a value stream team.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction This job has supervisory responsibilities up to 300 employees. Supervisory responsibility includes, but is not limited to, training and developing subordinates, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching and counseling employees, and administering disciplinary procedures. Will interact with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and outside contacts.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct work activity for assigned Value Stream Team; distribute workload and motivate subordinates.

Develop subordinates through career and skill development plans.

Monitor production reporting to control inventory systems.

Monitor production costs and ensure delivery performance by performing capacity analysis using build plans, determining staffing requirements, meeting customer requirements, and troubleshooting schedule and material issues.

Participate in new product launches with Engineering and review initial costs for quoting.

Ensure quality standards are met; champion Lean Kaizen events that focus on improving manufacturing capability and reducing rework and scrap; contain sources of quality issues; communicate with customers.

Promote and enforce compliance of safety policies and procedures.

Administer and ensure compliance of company policies; investigate and document employee-related issues; counsel employees and issue corrective action.

Qualifications

B.A./B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline; 6+ years of professional experience and demonstrated ability to perform the described role.

Proven competency in a team leader role for two or more years, and/or demonstrated leadership of major projects or programs.

Thorough knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, technology, information systems, and general business practices.

Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills, ability to assess and develop individual and team skills, and serve as a role model promoting new ideas and positive change.

Competitive Compensation

Pay Range: $104,400 to $174,150 annually.

Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
