We’re looking for Superintendents experienced in geotechnical or civil construction who know how to manage teams and projects to get work done.
This is a travel job with projects across the Eastern US. Crews work a 3-week on, 1-week off schedule. We specialize in Geohazard emergency response to landslide repairs, rockfall mitigation, and grouting using design/build and design/build/warranty contracting. Managing a team to install geohazard mitigation products as outlined in the job site drawings and operating procedures. Adhering to the PISTOL process, with special focus on pre-construction planning. Creating and executing safety plans to protect all crew members. Planning and managing projects with the daily management process, (+QDIPC). Monitoring and ensuring project performance, including duration and cost variance from budget. Compliance including daily logs, checklists, photo submissions, as-builts documentation, employee relations, credit card receipts, etc. Managing and maintaining crew member relations including tracking, documenting performance reviews, development plans, coaching, and disciplinary actions. Managing and communicating crew travel appropriately. Accountable for equipment daily maintenance, cleanliness, and related documentation. Ensure quality and testing programs are adhered to. Ensure good teamwork and communication between all functional groups involved on projects. Effective client-facing communication skills. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry (geotechnical industry preferred), including job management and knowledge of building products and services. Minimum 1 year of experience as a Superintendent required. Proven ability to interpret scope, specifications (including blueprints), and customer plans accurately while meeting profitability goals. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality projects within deadlines. Proven ability to manage projects and crews simultaneously. Strong communication skills: clear and persuasive speaking. Proven ability to work cross-functionally. Schedule flexibility to accommodate business needs. Working knowledge of company hardware and web-based systems. Valid driver’s license required (CDL A helpful). Ability to use pneumatic, battery-powered, or electric tools. Ability to travel extensively. Work Environment
The work environment varies from tropical to desert climates, with moderate noise levels and exposure to construction site dangers. Regular heavy lifting (75 lbs+) of materials is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Compensation
This is a salaried, non-exempt role with weekly pay, including off weeks. Hourly rate: $33-40/hour. Average total compensation over $120,000/year including bonuses and overtime. Yearly bonus, stock ownership, 100% paid travel. Benefits Include
