The opportunity
We’re looking for a talented, independent, dynamic physical therapist, with a passion for running and sports medicine, to join our fast-growing PT company. You will lead clinical running services, blending manual therapy and strength programming with evidence-based run coaching. The role suits a self-starter who wants the upside and autonomy of their own practice without the operational headaches. You will shape offerings like running gait analysis, return-to-run programs, and performance coaching while plugging into a large community of runners, track workouts, and local events powered by Atomic Track Club. About Atomic PT
Atomic PT, best of Boulder winner 2025, is a sports medicine clinic serving active adults and outdoor athletes across Boulder and Broomfield. We launched in 2022 and have built a respected, modern cash-pay practice centered on prevention, performance, and individualized care. Our team treats runners, climbers, hikers, cyclists, skiers, and more, always one-to-one, always tailored. Roles and Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding sports and orthopedic PT with a focus on runners across the spectrum: return-to-run programs, recreational runners, and elite athletes, from 5K to ultra running. Manage common running conditions: bone stress injury risk and recovery, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, ITB syndrome, patellofemoral pain, hamstring and adductor issues. Build and deliver programmed services: return-to-run after injury or pregnancy, masters runner strength blocks, marathon and ultra prep add-ons. Perform comprehensive running gait and movement assessments. Design individualized run + strength plans: periodization, plyometrics, calf/foot strength, tendon loading, speed development, and race build strategies. Document efficiently in JaneApp and track outcomes. Educate and convert: explain packages and programs in clear, friendly language that fits a cash-pay model. Lead community touchpoints: occasional Tuesday track sessions, workshops, shoe-store nights, group runs, race-week tune-ups, and social media education in collaboration with our team. Collaborate with our other team members and community partners to give runners integrated care. Must-haves
Licensed Physical Therapist in Colorado (or eligible). 3+ years orthopedic experience, including 2+ years sports PT experience with runners or endurance athletes. Dry Needling certification (or willingness to obtain). Comfortable in a cash-pay setting with one-to-one care and light sales communication. Strong communication skills and rapport building. You enjoy teaching and coaching. Nice to have
RRCA or USATF Level 1 run coach certification (or willingness to obtain). Experience with gait video analysis and running-specific strength and plyometric progressions. Familiarity with women’s health across the lifespan as it relates to running, including postpartum and perimenopause considerations. Interest in community building: talks, workshops, group runs, race outreach. Schedule and growth
Start part-time (1099) while your panel builds. Flexible hours and autonomy over your caseload. Clear path to full-time as demand grows in Boulder, with occasional Broomfield hours as needed. Benefits and why you will love it here
$65–$75 per treatment hour based on experience. Paid outreach and marketing time. Flexible scheduling that respects your life outside the clinic. Annual membership to gym and choice of fitness/health studio. Autonomy in treatment style and programming. No double booking and no insurance admin. Mentorship, personal development, and visibility into running a modern cash-pay startup. Opportunity to play a leading role with our Atomic Track Club. Real leadership runway as we grow running services and group offerings. Please don't hesitate to contact us to find out more about the position. We look forward to receiving your application. At Atomic Physical Therapy, we offer a supportive work environment where you can grow both personally and professionally. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others through physical therapy and are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of patient care, we would love to have you on our team.
