Job Summary:
Provides care for patients requiring CT procedures. Performs diverse radiology procedures applying computerized ionizing radiation to detect pathology. Operates CT equipment safely, maintains ALARA standards, and produces diagnostic quality images with appropriate technical factors. Relays images and pertinent information to the physician for interpretation. Assists with inventory management and patient scheduling. Remains current in Radiologic (X-ray) positioning and can perform Radiology Tech duties as assigned. Participates in establishing scan protocols and contrast administration. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with colleagues, other departments, and medical staff. Takes on-call as assigned for after-hours coverage. Responsibilities: Provide high-quality exams in a team-oriented, productive environment. Conduct quality assurance on technical equipment and resolve image quality issues with appropriate parties. Communicate effectively with the patient care team to address clinical questions. Demonstrate flexibility in work schedules and area coverage. Use communication tools responsibly (phones, email, FAX, internet). Verify patient identity using two identifiers (armband and verbal confirmation). Verify physician orders and diagnoses match exam orders. Perform CT examinations according to manual, Radiologist, and Medical Staff guidance. What qualifications you will need: (ARRT-R) Radiography Associate Degree Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or equivalent; RT/Radiologic Technologist credential must be obtained within 30 days of start date HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is a 221-bed acute care facility serving Seminole and West Volusia County.
