We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team at Edwards Lifesciences" Draper, UT facility. This role supports testing and related activities in a chemistry laboratory environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: sample preparation, extraction, report generation, testing using analytical equipment (e.g., analytical balance, gas and liquid chromatography), maintaining chemical inventory, cleaning laboratory glassware, handling chemical waste in safety-compliant manner, and conducting equipment calibration and preventative maintenance.

How you will make an impact

Act with integrity, professionalism and composure in fast-paced environments inside and outside of the laboratory.

Perform routine and non-routine testing using established procedures and protocols.

Document testing activities accurately following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Support qualification and validation of critical systems and equipment under supervision.

Develop and update operating procedures to maintain GDP and Environmental Health Safety (EHS) standards.

Perform scheduled calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Manage chemical inventory, including receiving and tracking chemicals, samples, and supplies.

Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment aligned with 6S principles, including glassware cleaning and chemical waste management.

Initiate and support laboratory investigations, providing recommendations for managerial review.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Prepare data summaries, reports, and protocols using standardized templates; review and approve basic laboratory data.

Train and mentor junior technicians, assess techniques, and provide constructive feedback.

Solid mathematical proficiency (algebra, decimals, percentages, and unit conversions).

What You’ll Need (Required)

Associate’s degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related scientific field with at least three (3) years of experience in a chemistry/scientific laboratory environment; OR

Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related scientific field with no experience.

What else we look for (Preferred)

Degree in chemistry.

Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech).

Experience operating advanced analytical instruments (e.g., FTIR, SEM, ICP-MS, GC-MS, LC-MS) for material characterization, contamination analysis, or regulatory testing.

Experience with validation/revalidation protocols and equipment qualification.

Familiarity with GMP and SOPs; commitment to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Good Laboratory Practices.

Extensive knowledge of laboratory operations, including chemical handling and safety practices.

Experience in regulated environments such as cleanroom manufacturing and laboratories.
