Overview
Adventist Rehabilitation - Shady Grove Medical Center. Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Lymphedema Occupational Therapist for our Outpatient Rehabilitation department at Aquilino Cancer Center. The role supports our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Responsibilities
Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish an impairment/diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care prior to intervention for all persons served with basic rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehabilitation settings (flex to any Rehab site as needed). Provide, or direct and supervise, the therapy intervention consistent with the results of the examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care. Involve the patient/client and appropriate others in planning, implementation, and assessment of the plan of care, and reexamine as necessary during an episode of care to evaluate progress or change in status and modify the plan of care accordingly or discontinue occupational therapy services. In consultation with appropriate disciplines, plan for discharge, considering achievement of goals and outcomes, and provide for follow-up or referral. Discontinue intervention when progress toward goals stalls or when therapy no longer benefits the patient/client (in coordination with referring provider/team where indicated). Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient/client management, including examination results, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response to interventions, barriers to progress, changes in status, reexamination, and discharge/discontinuation of intervention. Supervise and direct the patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers. Manage schedule to accommodate census and patient load; inform management of issues with caseload management. Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status, using the medical record or other treating therapists as needed to ensure knowledge of the case. Be responsible for individual professional development activities. Qualifications
Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) certification from Klose or Norton required. 1 year of site-specific experience preferred. Active Maryland OT License. Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Work Schedule and Compensation
Per diem position at a rate of $60/hour. Coverage is needed Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Pay Range: $34.58 – $51.87. If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process. Compliance and Benefits
