Job Title: Senior Radiation Therapist Department: James | Radiation Oncology Location: Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center (0874) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: Varying Shifts The Senior Radiation Therapist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Medical Center. The primary responsibility is to perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures involving the application of X-rays and radioactive substances to patients for simulation and treatment of malignancies and pain. The Senior Radiation Therapist is responsible for the accurate delivery of prescribed radiation therapy, participates in quality assessment activities, and provides education, training, and oversight to radiation therapy students as directed by the Radiation Therapy Manager. Responsibilities
Perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures in accordance with treatment plans and department standards. Assist in treatment planning support and maintain prescribed standards set by the Radiation Oncologist. Reinforce patient education, monitor patients for unusual reactions, and ensure radiation safety for patients and staff. Participate in student teaching, oversight, and supervision as directed. Support the clinical education and research missions of the Medical Center through participation in clinical projects. Conduct quality assessment activities for the Department of Radiation Oncology. Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology. Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiation Therapy. 5+ years of Radiation Therapy experience. Ongoing
Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Maintains registration and licensure through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Ohio Department of Health. Additional Information
