NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene . The mission of the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control is to prevent the spread of tuberculosis and eliminate it as a public health problem in New York City. The Training & Outreach office is seeking to fill the role of Outreach Nurse Educator/Trainer. This role will provide TB and relevant comorbidities education to external healthcare providers, as part of provider outreach efforts. The successful candidate will establish partnerships with medical schools, facilities, and professional organizations to deliver medical talks and ensure healthcare providers in NYC are educated on best practices for TB clinical care. Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evaluate provider education efforts, including targeted material distribution and empowerment of clinical partner organizations. Assist with provider education events such as grand rounds, provider convenings, and conferences. Utilize data analysis of NYC TB epidemiology to enhance outreach effectiveness and resource allocation. Develop strategies for TB awareness campaigns and provider engagement initiatives. Review data from outreach initiatives via Public Health Partners Connect reports. Co-lead the TB Coalition, set agendas, and enhance its reach to NYC clinicians. Develop and sustain partnerships with stakeholders and clinics to increase TB testing accessibility. Track grantee activities, maintain records, and prepare reports. Present research at conferences and mentor students, interns, and fellows. Produce quarterly data updates for NYS and CDC reporting. Coordinate research, outreach, and evaluation efforts to promote best practices in TB care. Design evaluation studies, surveys, and questionnaires. Conduct qualitative interviews to evaluate outreach effectiveness. Assist in drafting CME documents for trainings and conferences. Preferred Skills

At least two years of experience in outreach or research interventions, with strong interpersonal skills. Experience with medical consultation and clinical lectures. Proficiency in additional languages such as Chinese, Spanish, Bengali, Urdu, or Hindi. Experience in outreach, training needs assessment, and data management. Excellent presentation, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work offsite across NYC, including weekends and evenings. Experience with phlebotomy in outreach settings.
